1. Don't you think you are taking this a tiny bit too far?

   Both OP and you seem very happy to make a judgement of his entire character based on this one interaction, where he, as far as we know, might have just genuinely tried to help people out. It's her trauma sure, but depending on how often it comes up it might not be obvious to him that it is as much as a trigger for her.

2. Our conditions to having ex's as part of our lives was that we meet the other person so we can see the dynamic. He was happy with that too, and agreed that it would make him feel more comfortable.
