  1. Sounds like your both living off your parents. You should both go home until your mental health issues are worked out enough to be independent, functioning members of society who don't expect people or each other to pay your way.

  2. Remind her that it isn't her fault, it was nothing she did wrong. Sometimes it just happens and it's terrifying and tragic, and she has every right to grieve.

  3. Asking someone to change their entire life to conform to your ideal is not “hardly ask(ing) for anything”.

I’m very active in the fitness community. I see super fit people with partners who are far from “fit” all the time. The exceptions are the insecure ones who are worried about what having an “unfit” (they always mean “fat”) partner says about them to other men.

Again, you are free to divorce. The gym is an awesome place to meet people who share your passion for fitness. I’m sure you’ll have no issues.

  4. Wow. Just from the responses so far, and have not read them all yet. Made me realize I was putting all women in a bubble. That's not fair. I'm glad I asked instead of going deeper down that hole.

  5. Do as your husband says leave him alone. He might be jealous because you are happy now & settled which is what he wants.Don't be fooled.

  6. Just never heard of a grandparent not wanting to buy a baby anything. My friends thought this was odd too. Guess reddit is just harsh af lol

  7. Your new date finds your intoxicated gregarious self loud and annoying. I suggest that you date a guy who finds your loud and annoying self intoxicating and gregarious.

  8. Everyone has different lived experiences, that’s what makes us human. There are probably things you do that I’ll disagree with, and vice versa.

The best thing in these situations is to take yourself out of the context, and view it objectively. Granted, it’s easier said than done, but it’s saved me in so many situations where I’ve been stuck in my stubborn ways

  9. u/Hot-Device-94, it looks like you're trying to post a throwaway submission. Your account is too young and/or your comment karma is too low.

The right way to do it is to create a brand new Reddit account that begins with ThrowRA.

  10. My main tip and trick would be to not date people who don't respect your time, but if you want to keep dating this guy:

Agree on a time and if he's not there within 15 minutes, leave and do something else. If he texts you at 12 saying he'll be there at 2, text back and say, “I made time for us to meet now and I don't have two hours to wait, let me know when you'd like to meet again. My time is valuable to me.”

If he doesn't respond, oh well. Treat your time with respect and he will either follow suit or he won't and you can go find someone who does.

  11. Yeah, she’s not going to change and she’s young which makes a double the worst wait till you’re married, and she wants only the best in the finest things and buy them without thinking about where they come from marry somebody else

  12. I agree. Wouldn’t they be able to track who placed the food order? If she was able to conceal her identity then she must’ve gone to lengths to create an acct just for that purpose. Furthermore, sent people to a sketch part of town? What if something happened to the person? If I was the driver sent to to wrong address, I’d be finding her for sure. Nah, if this is all true she’s an evil cunt and OP is an idiot.

  13. I don’t know why you are getting downvoted. I’m an atheist and knowing what you are/not okay with is important.

  14. Have you inquired how the first dna test showed little relation? Should you not have had any at all if he’s not your father?

Maybe she hasn’t said because it’s someone in the family. Before getting too mad, remember that until she explains, it could be anything, including assault.

  15. I appreciate that but the issue has only arisen as it’s relating to something she has done? Surely two months is quite a long time to be sleeping with someone else whilst starting a relationship?

  16. This could be a whole paper but you having a healthy relationship with your sexuality is nothing to be suspicious of – that’s why this can be so undermining and hurtful. Ultimately you question yourself (which is good to some degree – checking yourself and your end of things) rather than see that it’s his problem and his choice not to make this a priority. There’s nothing wrong with you. There is something very wrong with him not giving a damn.

  17. Sperm donors exist, as does adoption, this does not have to be the end of the road, childwise.

You Do need to tell her immediately! Keeping it a secret will only engender resentment and could put your relationship in jeopardy.

  18. Not to sound rude, but if you expect your partner to be a mind reader you may not be mature enough for a relationship.

  19. Your first mistake was being manipulated into a relationship with some guy nearly 10 years your senior. Now you’re stuck, with kids. But hey, hindsight is 20/20

  20. My cousin who has a PHD in Chemistry said The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor was his favorite in the Mummy series.

Don't let anyone tell you what to like. Just because you're in a field seen as “sophisticated” doesn't mean you have to conform. Stand up for yourself and like what you like and if he gives you shit for liking trashy romance novels tell him to fuck off.

  21. Yeah for sure you make a great point and the thing is. She is in school 2 hours from me. She will be for one more year and for the summer she will be in another state for an internship for 3 months. And then right after right back to school. So the next time me and her will have time together will be winter time ?. But that’s not accounting for the fact that she has her own family too and she is close with them. Or at least that she wants to stay close to them and everything so she has to find times for everyone.

I will be honest. With my ex I would literally visit her every single day she was super close by. So it’s a drastic difference going from everyday to now only a couple days a couple times a month.

  22. Guys your age say dumb shit a lot. I’m sure he thinks your eyes are pretty. I don’t think I’ve ever had any form of relationship with a straight man in his 20s where they didn’t say something rude about my appearance without thinking

  23. Cutting them out is 100% your choice and given what's happened it wouldn't be an overreaction. You're never in the wrong for establishing healthy boundaries, whatever those look like for you and your situation. Wish you the best

  24. Get rid of him and find someone who actually loves and respects you. And is more age appropriate.

  25. Honestly, in every instance where I had a gut feeling that a partner was being shady/cheating, they were. Sometimes I wouldn’t learn the truth until after we broke up.

I agree with the others that you should stop trying to contact the woman but if I were you, I’d keep my eyes open. This is probably insane but lol my mom caught my dad cheating by hiding a voice activated recorder in his home office and sure enough he called his AP when she went out to run errands. Not saying you need to go to that extreme but this situation just screams shadiness to me. I’d be very vigilant if I were you.

  26. Your choices in a relationship always come down to stay or leave.

You've said how you feel about this and she's making the decision that she feels is the right one, as is her right.

You need to respect that and make your own decision about whether you are going to stick around on those terms.

  27. She feels like she’s being left behaving and that OP will “LEVEL UP” with his assistant. Buy her a after marriage promise ring and have a small ceremony to rededicate the marriage. It’s sounds trivial but it’ll go a long way to show her and your family that nothing has changed.

Also, remember to show continual affection and spend quality time together.

  28. You didn’t freely and willingly give consent, you were coerced into by being put on the spot in front of the friend who wanted to kiss her. Coerced consent is not consent. And then she crossed the boundary that you gave your non-consent to and ran for another mile. The fact that you two are in a bdsm relationship should make consent an automatic priority yet she didn’t prioritize it.

  30. $300,000 isnt a downpayment. Thats basically entire fucking cost of the house. A downpayment is like, $20,000-50,000.

  31. Congratulations, you've married someone more like the ex than not. Time to get safely away. And get some therapy, so you're not bringing more of these men around your child.

  32. He knows she wants to get married. She doesn't know if he does. You should never propose to someone unless you're sure you're going to get a yes.

  33. You don’t say what their advice is or why so it’s really hot to say. Ultimately you should make your own path and follow your truth. That said I imagine your parents do have your best interest at heart.

  34. Her parents were ok with their 17 year old date a 23 year old??? And they don’t care he was abusive??

She needs out and away from her parents if anything. They are toxic.

  35. How much meth do you need to smoke to think you should apologize to someone that cheated on you and lied to you until you were married and had kids with them?

  36. I spent 8 years with my abuser because I didn't want to regret giving up. You know what I regret? Spending 8 years of my life with him. I threw away 8 years, don't do the same.
