Cutting your ex wife out will set a bad example for your children with your current wife. Why would you want to show them that when relationships get tricky, you should just abandon that commitment? Your kids are not fully grown, and even if they are, you have a commitment to them. If she cannot understand this, how would that work out in your current situation? I’d suggest finding a couples counselor and having these discussions there. Your wife sounds like she is struggling with an emotional reaction, and having a neutral third party would likely reduce the chances of these conversations going sideways. This is not something you should cave into, as this is an incredibly controlling and inappropriate response from your current wife. What’s next?
