Im allergic to cats and have two. I dont know how severe your allergy is but you said you'd do anything for her. I reccomend a daily allergy med or as a long term solution allergy shots if thats a possibility for you.
I mostly mellowed living with my cats. But allergy shots are in the works for other compounding reasons. I take meds since I have 15+ daily allergens(determined by allergy testing). But I find that I dont have an actively bad flaire up to my cats unless they sit on my face/pillow or if I pet them and touch my face. So I make sure I always groom them to cut down on shedding and wash my hands regularly to keep it away from my face. Since my biggest issue is swollen, watery, itchy eyes, sneezing, and headaches. I thought the same about them making themselves out to be the victim by how it reads. I had an ex who would do these kinds of things. He'd do something messed up and either gaslight me or tell me how bad He feels for making me feel bad and that he's the real victim and how I should be grateful he's apologizing.
