thanks for your advice and insight – Ive known her for about 2 years now so Ive known her for a while… I just didnt know that part of her… It does sound like she needs to work on herself… Can she not do that while in a relationship? lots of people work on themselves in a relationship. Im still working on myself as well… I really like this girl
so we are both adhd, both autistic… we both do art for a living, have both gotten ourselves “snipped” at young ages. we are both into metaphysical stuff big time, we have so many interests and hobbies in common too.. its like we overlap in literally everything… and were insanely compatible until i found this out….. big sad.
I hate to say it, but this is part of how we learn. Right now you're learning what not to do in a relationship and how to properly communicate after a misunderstanding. I also think you're being way too very hot on yourself. You can't punish yourself for having random thoughts.
This is the part where you learn not to say the private part out loud. It's a good skill to have.
you can't fix stupid… or ignorant.
You can't educate someone who likes being this way, who fails to see the destructive and hateful nature of it and who is quite happy in those beliefs.
You can either agree to disagree and move on (like couples who are dove and hawks) or you can can say his bigotry and ignorance is unattractive and you want someone who is far more enlightened and comfortable in his sense of self.
there is no wrong or right answer, it just means that certain conversations are to be avoided because you know damn well you disagree with them, if you can respect each other through your different points of views then what more can you ask for?
