Break up and take the cat. Why would you want to be with someone who is actively doing something detrimental to the health and well-being, of a pet she wanted to get in the first place, for her own selfish reasons. It’s disgusting and cruel. The cat deserves better than that, and I honestly wouldn’t want to be with that kind of a sociopath.
