I've met a few smart females, but I've met more smart males (and a lot more NOT smart people of every gender). Anecdotally it does look like men are on average smarter, or at least that more of them are smart. But I don't know thousands of people, and those I do know aren't representative of the population. It's not a sufficient dataset to draw a real conclusion. And I still know women can be as smart as or smarter than males.
