  1. You are overthinking! And that's totally fine – very normal in that situation, I would say.

I'd take one step at the time if I were you. First, meet them more often and just see if the chemistry remains there.

Also I don't feel it's ignorant to not be into someone's birth gender. I mean, in the end, even if this is the wrong body for the person, it's still a set of “normal” genitals. If you're not into vaginas, for example, then you're not into them – no matter if they belong to a trans person or not. And that's very normal.

Everyone who is only attracted to one gender (no matter which one) would, by your logic, be “ignorant” then. But they're not. They're either straight or homosexual. That's not an ignorant thing, that's just normal sexual attraction to one set of genitals.

And, well, let's say your crush is female and stuck in a male body… who knows, they might actually feel validated and good if you tell them that you're only into girls and don't want to have sex before the surgery. This sub has seen quite a few trans people who find out that their partners don't really want them to have surgery after all because they like their partners birth gender… unfortunately, trans people do run into such assholes. So maybe, your crush might even like it when your attraction basically assures them that you see them and want them as whatever they truly are.

  2. If you are reaching out to get answers, you will not get what your looking for by contacting her.

Move on with your life. If you seek to resolve your own issues, than look for someone qualified to help you sort thru your feelings.

Move forward in life, do not waste it looking behind you

  3. I appreciate your advice. I think I pretty much did this when she told me, and I was worried it wasn't a strong enough reaction or condemnation of his actions (specifically, avoiding the use of the phrase SA in favor of other language). But it may have been all I could do without risking our relationship. Thank you!
