Making your child feel safe is far more important than him right now. He needs to get himself under control with proper help. I don’t care how much stress one is under, the wellbeing(mental, emotional)of the children are more important than his feelings right now.

She's 26. I think a lot of people who are child free often change their mind by that point. And, if she were to change her mind, then she can have that conversation then. “I have decided that I would like to try for children, however I believe I may have/I have fertility issues, so it will be difficult for me to conceive.”
Yes, I agree that it is weird to keep a secret. But there is a difference between purposely keeping a secret and just never really mentioning it. Especially when, as stated before, it doesn't need to be known when she doesn't plan on having children.
