No, but I have worked closely with widowers. This does not invalidate the fact that what he is doing is suspicious to OP. He can be hurt and grieving but this shouldn't and can't be as closed and cagey as it has been for the relationship to work. He is giving OP his late wife's clothes and calling her the same nickname, anyone would be hurt and this is obviously not healthy.
