I’m shaking as I’m typing this but I really could use some advice. I’ll try to make this as short as possible but need to give some background information in order for this to make sense. Essentially, I met my boyfriend in late of 2021 and we dated for about 6 months before breaking up due to certain indifferences. He ended up reaching out to me about 4 months later wanting to reconcile and work things out. I absolutely agreed because I never wanted the breakup to happen in the first place. We were going to meet up a few days later to talk things out and then literally like 2 days after he reached out to me, he told me he got news he has to move to Houston for his police academy (we’re from Washington). I knew from the very beginning he wanted to be a police officer and the first offer he got was from Houston and he accepted it. So, we both kind of decided to not pursue things further because of the distance. If there was an end goal of us being together one day, then maybe but he told me he would likely stay out there indefinitely.
So, it was definitely heartbreaking and I never forgot about him, he crossed my mind at least once a day. Then he reached out to me again 3 weeks ago confessing his feelings to me saying he can’t see himself with anyone but me and that he does see a future with me. He said we shouldn’t worry about the distance for now because he is actually planning on moving back to our home state by the end of the year. Obviously I was over the moon and couldn’t wait. I found out that he had started his academy back in January.
We started talking again every day and I could tell he really wanted to be with me. When he reached out 3 weeks ago, he told me he was back home for a bit and we got to spend sometime together. He told me 2 days ago that he has to fly out to Houston on the 16th (today). So, he left for “Houston” and when he finally landed, he called me and we talked for a bit and I asked him to show me his room because I was curious to see what it looked like. He sent me 2 photos, one of his supposed bedroom and one of the living room. I saved those photos because I like to save mementos like that. Well I was definitely surprised to see that the photo that he sent was not taken in Houston, but in fact it was taken in New York. It showed the time, date and location and that it was taken 2 minutes before he sent it to me. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Not only did he lie about being back in Houston but he lied that he was going back because of the academy. Now it makes me think, is he even in the police academy? There is absolutely no way. The other weird thing is that he has an iPhone 13 but the photo was taken on an iPhone 12. Did he tell someone to send a photo of their living room/bedroom to him so he could show me? I also thought how he was able to come home during the middle of the academy for 3 weeks? And he also told me he was planning on coming back in like 2 weeks back home again. What kind of academy lets their students do this? These were the things I was already a little suspicious of but when I saw the photo was taken in NY, it kind of proved my suspicions. I don’t even know how to approach this. I am so heated and so upset that I was this stupid. I could use some serious advice please.
