I never thought about it this way.. for context on the other hand, throughout the day it gets said on from both of us several times. The only way I can even tell (sometimes) if something is bothering her is if I say it and either get an “mhm” or “love you too”. But I do see how saying it AFTER I recognize there’s an issue can be manipulative. Honestly didn’t mean it like that but I’ll do better on that end going forward. When time permits, I’ll also see about some kind of counsel.
I get why she didn't tell you, but once you and your brother were no longer on speaking terms, it should have come up to avoid this very situation. He guessed she wouldn't tell you and threw it out there just to be hurtful.
