Those tests are not fully accurate. I’m part Chinese, mostly French heritage. I have naturally dark hair, tan easily and dark eyes. I am also exceptionally tall for the women in my family. I’m also very lean, but with a lot of curves. I have been told I look like Monica Bellucci more than once- to give you an idea of what I look like.
My husband is Czechoslovakian, but born and raised in the US. He has brown hair, green eyes and burns very easily. He looks very Eastern European.
I have two children. My oldest has white blonde hair, bright blue eyes with a hint of Asian to them. He tans easily. He looks so different from me that I’ve had to provide proof that I’m his mother at the doctor’s office and at school.
My youngest has blonde hair as well, green eyes but with distinctly Asian features, including eye shape. Also tans easily. He also looks nothing like either my husband or myself- but he definitely looks Asian.
Several friends have asked me if my son was my own or if I used donor eggs (I had him at 43- so many people assumed IVF).
TLDR: Genes are weird. They can come out generations later. With a test like 23 and Me, the percentage of my youngest son’s DNA that is Chinese will be higher than my own due to genetic expression. It is actually quite fascinating to learn about how these tests work and what they capture- which is very limited.
If you are enrolled in university, perhaps seek out a biology professor and speak with them about it.
Why does he have to be the one to break up? You’re an adult. Adulting often involves doing things that give us grief and inconvenience. Man up and do what needs to be done instead of whining on here.
